The Brief

Vertex is partnering exclusively with a profitable Series C fintech building treasury and liquidity infrastructure for European mid-market businesses. The current platform — a bespoke .NET monolith — is being replatformed onto an event-driven architecture as the business prepares to enter Germany and the Nordics. The incoming CTO will be the executive accountable for the engineering, product engineering, and platform reliability functions, and will sit on the executive team alongside the founder/CEO and CFO.

Responsibilities

  Own the multi-year technology roadmap and quarterly delivery cadence

• 02

  Lead a function of 64 engineers across four product squads and a platform team

• 03

  Sit on the executive committee and present to the board (Index, Accel, Lakestar)

• 04

  Own technical due diligence for the upcoming Series D

• 05

  Recruit and develop a new VP of Engineering and Head of Platform

The Successful Candidate

• 01

  Prior experience scaling a B2B SaaS or fintech engineering org from ~30 to 150+

• 02

  Demonstrable track record of replatforming a monolithic codebase without halting commercial delivery

• 03

  Comfortable with regulated environments — FCA, PSD2, ISO 27001

• 04

  Has carried board-level accountability

  Background in payments, treasury, or banking infrastructure
